Unicorn Riot: Tijuana Groups Protest Border Wall Construction at Friendship Park


On a rainy Sunday in mid-June, 30 people gathered in Tijuana to protest the increasing militarization of Friendship Park, known locally as El Parque de la Amistad. Chanting “Parque sí, muros no!” (“Parks, yes, walls, no!”), the group marched from the garden to a plaza overlooking the beach. Carrying handmade signs, the group saw friends gathering on the San Diego beach to join the protest.
