Dan Watman accepted "People in the Trenches Award" from Save Our Heritage Organization (SOHO) on behalf of the Friends of Friendship Park on May 29, 2009

 

Dear Mr. Watman,
 
On behalf of the SOHO Board of Directors, I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected as a recipient of a 2009 People in Preservation Award.

The jury was duly impressed with your dedication and untiring efforts to preserve the meaning and purpose of Friendship Park. For your activism in the face of insurmountable odds, SOHO is presenting you the “People in the Trenches” award.

People in Preservation award winners receive one pair of tickets to the awards ceremony. Please RSVP at your earliest convenience. Any extra tickets needed may be purchased at the SOHO member price of $35 each.

The awards ceremony is held during National Preservation Month on Friday, May 29th at the 1889 Temple Beth Israel in Heritage Park, Old Town. You will receive an invitation with details.

The 2009 PIP Award Winners will be available online and will be showcased in an upcoming issue of Our Heritage magazine.

Additional award certificates are available for purchase: If you would like duplicates made for additional members on the award-winning project, please provide the names and addresses of each person and $25 per certificate.

You will be contacted by SOHO’s PIP photographer Jim Brady, and you may be contacted by the San Diego Union-Tribune’s Roger Showley and a Union-Tribune photographer as well.
